Tim Burnside is the Global Vice President of Welfare, Sustainability & Compliance for Aviagen Group, a role he has held since June 2022.
He is responsible for the co-ordination of the group’s global welfare system for chickens and turkeys along with a number of global sustainability projects. Prior to his current role at Aviagen Group he worked for Aviagen Turkeys for over 25 years. During his time there, he had responsibilities in a number of different areas across the business including Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, Sales and Marketing and R&D.
Tim has a Master of Science degree in poultry, from the University of Glasgow, UK. He is a Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) welfare auditor. In addition, he is actively involved in various regional and global welfare and sustainability industry working groups, including Avec, British Poultry Council, European Forum for Farm Animal Breeders, International Poultry Welfare Alliance and International Poultry Council.
